BIRKENSTOCK's legendary two-strap design: the Arizona model. Inspired by the original cork, this sandal is made of ultra-light and very flexible EVA. These sandals are shock-absorbing, waterproof and skin-friendly. Use them on the beach, in the garden or in the gym and after workouts.
Last summer I wore my Birkenstock EVA sandals over and over again and they held up really well. First of all, EVA Birkenstocks are water resistant and can be cleaned with a damp cloth if they get dirty. I've heard people throw them in the washing machine. I simply clean them or wash them with a hose after gardening, and they hold up well since they are made of quality materials.
As a mother who spends a lot of time running with my children and playing in the yard (and near a water table), watering plants, etc., they are very easy to use. They have the standard deep treads that all Birkenstocks have for traction, so I imagine they'll be great for a ship or a more rocky coast. Maybe it's just me, but the waterproof versions of Birkenstock seem more attractive to me than a leather Birkenstock. I'm going to start by saying that I love that Birkenstocks became the “It” sandals a few years ago and they're still going strong.
You're not likely to go out for a very long walk in a beautiful leather sandal, but the Birkenstock Arizona Essentials are ideal for walking.
